Megan Webster, (B.A.H, B.Ed, M.A., PhD) is dedicated to improving education at scale.  As an expert in the development of expertise in teaching, Megan helps educational leaders develop programmes to improve classroom teaching. She trains professional development specialists and instructional coaches to improve the quality of their supports for teachers. She trains school board leaders how to design educational systems that make accomplished teaching the norm, not the exception. In short, Megan works with educational leaders to develop programmes which develop internal leaders, elevate exceptional practices, evolve what’s considered “normal,” and develop schools which flourish.

As an award winning classroom teacher, teacher educator, professional development consultant, and scholar of pedagogy, Megan brings over 20 years of experience working with K-12 schools, post-secondary institutions, school boards, and government agencies across Canada and the US to her work. Her interventions include redesigning and leading professional learning systems, improving instruction at scale, implementing coaching systems, and consulting at large academic institutions.

In a partnership with scholars at Vanderbilt University and the University of Washington, Megan supported two major urban school districts in the U.S. who aimed to radically improve instruction in their districts. For the past ten years, in addition to consulting at 11 other school boards, Megan worked with the Sir Wilfrid Laurier School Board to orchestrate numerous strategies which all aimed to support teachers to implement high leverage teaching practices: she trained administrators to observe and give feedback on instruction and to implement the Danielson Frameworks for Teacher Appraisal; she led professional development at schools, she coached the principals, trained the pedagogical consultants, and consulted with pedagogical leaders.

Winner of the Canadian Prime Minister’s Teaching Award, Megan is recognized for her great energy, humour, passion and rigor. Participants leave sessions with her joyful, empowered, and ready for action.
